Upma is traditional South Indian breakfast which is popular worldwide. It's very easy to make recipe and you can prepare it in just 15 minutes. It's one of my favorite breakfast recipes which is yummy, healthy and light.
There are so many ways of making it. Mostly  Masala upma is everyone's favorite coz it's loaded with veggies and spices but today I'm sharing this  no onion and no garlic Upma, you can call it Jain upma also and believe me guys it really tatstes so yumm.

1cup - 250 ml.

INGRIDIENTS :-

  • rava or suji - 1/2 cup
  • oil or ghee - 1tbs
  • cumin seeds or jeera - 1/2 tsp
  • mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • chana + urad daal - 1 tsp
  • cashew nuts - 5 
  • curry leaves - 5
  • salt as required 
  • water 1.25 cup
               

DIRECTION:--

There are two ways of making this Upma first you
can roast rava first or second you can add rava direct and roast it with veggie and spices.
Here I'll go with second type coz it takes less time.
  • Add oil or ghee in a heated pan.
  • Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds, let them crackle.
  • Add urad and chana daal and curry leaves.
  • Now add chopped green chili and rock salt in it.
  • Add cashew nuts in it and stir.
  • Now add rava in it and cook it with 4-5 minutes in low flame if you use roasted rava then cook it for 1-2 minute.
  • Now gradually add water in it.
  • Add few drops of lemon(opt.).
  • Stir till rava or sooji absorbs water.
  • Now cover it with a lid and cook for 1 minute more.
  • Upma is ready garnish it coriander leaves.
Enjoy Upma with your favorite chutney or pickle.
