                      Chutneys are all time favorite accompaniment in indian cuisine.There are many types of chutneys like coconut chutney, green chutney, mint chutney, mango chutney etc. which have different different taste sweet, sour, spicy and tangy. So if you want all these taste in one chutney then tamarind or imli chutney is perfect option.
This chutney pairs well with dahi vadas, samosas, kachori and so much more.....



Prep. time:- 10 min.

Cooking time:- 15 min.

Ingredients:- 

  • tamarind or imli - 1/2 cup 
  • water - 4 cup
  • oil - 2 tsp
  • jeera or cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • pinch of heeng
  • rai or mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • salt as required 
  • Black salt as required
  • Roasted cumin powder
  • Red chili powder1 tsp
  • Sugar - here i have used 4 tsp you can use as much as sweetness you want.
  • Dry fruits handful(cashew)

Directions:-

Removing pulp-

  • Soak tamarind overnight or you can soak it in boiled water for 15 min. to get instant pulp.
  • Mash it into pulp.
  • To remove all pulp strain, pressing tamarind into a strainer and separate pulp from tamarind.

To  make chutney:-



  • Heat a pan and take oil in it. now add cumin and mustard seeds in it and let them crackled.
  • Add a pinch of heeng in it.
  • Now add tamarind pulp in it and stir it.
  • Add red chili powder, roasted cumin seeds, salt and sugar in you can add chaat masala also if you like.
  • Cook the chutney till the consistency you want.
  • Add dry fruits in it.
  • chutney is ready and serve it with any dish.
